Creating a Client Area for your website is a great way to separate your online portfolio of images from your client specific images.
The power of Fotomerchant also lets you set this up in a combination of ways depending on how you would like to structure your website. Below is a list of options available to you and outlined steps for each one.
Using a Gallery Category based Portfolio
Prerequisite: You have client galleries already created that are password protected.
Part A - Creating a Gallery Category based Portfolio Page
- Go to Website > Pages section of your website administration area.
- Press + Portfolio Page to create a new Portfolio Page.
- Enter all the necessary details and be sure to select Portfolio Style: Gallery Category
- Press Save to create the new page for your website.
Part B - Creating your Gallery Category "Client Area"
- Go to Library > Gallery Categories section of your website administration area.
- Press + Gallery Category to create a new Gallery Category.
- Enter the Category Title as "Client Area".
- Press Save to create the new gallery category. This should take you back to the gallery categorise list page where you have uncategorised galleries on the right of screen and your gallery categories on the left of screen.
- Drag the client galleries from the Uncategorised Galleries list on the right to your Client Area gallery category on the left. This drag and drop action will automatically save your selections.
Once Part A and B are complete, you should now be able to go to your website and view the Client Area inside your Portfolio.
Using a Gallery Category Page
Prerequisite: You have client galleries already created that are password protected.
Part A - Creating your Gallery Category "Client Area"
- Go to Library > Gallery Categories section of your website administration area.
- Press + Gallery Category to create a new Gallery Category.
- Enter the Category Title as "Client Area".
- Press Save to create the new gallery category. This should take you back to the gallery categorise list page where you have uncategorised galleries on the right of screen and your gallery categories on the left of screen.
- Drag the client galleries from the Uncategorised Galleries list on the right to your Client Area gallery category on the left. This drag and drop action will automatically save your selections.
Part B - Creating a Gallery Category Page
- Go to Website > Pages section of your website administration area.
- Press + Gallery Category Page to create a new Gallery Category Page.
- Enter all the necessary details and be sure to select Gallery Category: Client Area
- Press Save to create the new page for your website.
Once Part A and B are complete, you should now be able to go to your website and view the Client Area directly from your website navigation area.
